Young Orca just started as an aka then the homie Fredo start calling me Orca the most and it just fit. So i was finishing my Dionysus Lifestyle album up then Dec.27th around 1am Murs made a dream come true for me and Curtiss King telling us if we can make it to the shows on Road To Paid Dues we can be on the tour BOOM! lol. Now im like shit i need something out i had some Young Orca tracks and some tracks that fit the project and thats how my aka’s turn into full fledge projects lol.

2011 i dropped an Ep called Intelligent Elegant Elephant:Humble Power while i was finishing up this Young Orca Ep i realized the similarities it has with I.E.E Ep, they both have the same feel but this Young Orca Ep was based off of relationship i build in the last 2yrs,from producers, artist, the relationship i have with my granny and my future wife Lesa J. So the both of the these Ep’s is apart of my Majestic Travels Collection. If you don’t have my last Ep you can get here on my page.

Paid Dues Pre Party Review & Recap Video!!!

This coming Saturday, the 7th of April, is the day before Easter.  To those that hold the Christian faith close to their hearts, Easter marks the day that Jesus was resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven.  Fittingly the 7th will be the day one of the greatest hip-hop festivals in the country, Paid Dues, will come to San Bernardino, CA in an attempt to resurrect the spirits of a city hit hard by economic hardships even before the national nosedive.

However, to celebrate the impending madness that will take over next weekend underground hip-hop linchpin Murs and Guerilla Union threw a pre-party at the House of Blues on Sunset in Los Angeles on Saturday night.  Loose-limbed in its execution, it truly did feel like a house party, albeit one at the legendary House of Blues.

The lineup consisted of Noa James (2011 Paid Dues alumni), 4TWO7, and Reverie, among others.  It was clear from the level of intensity emanating from the stage that everyone came to show why he or she deserved to be on the Paid Dues stage in the past or in the future.

Noa James kicked things off with a furious, concise set with songs old and new.  If you’re unaware of James, he’s almost single-handedly put the Inland Empire on the map as one of underground hip-hop’s best breeding grounds.  James secured his way onto last year’s Paid Dues bill the same way as Curtiss King did: by petitioning and campaigning to eventually be voted on.  It’s clear that James works just as hard onstage as he does to snag a spot in one of the largest hip-hop festivals.

One of the jaw-dropping surprises of the night came with Reverie.  A petite young woman who looked like she might have fallen out of an early 90’s hip-hop music video, she owned every bit of the stage during her 25-minute set.  Relying on straightforward but thundering beats, Reverie spit a flow that emphasized a syllable-gymnastic style, so much so that there were times I got lost.  Believe me, that’s a compliment.

It was a lighthearted night with all of the artists consistently thanking the crowd for showing support and championing a workhouse ethic.  Perhaps the moment that summed up the night came during the end of James’ set when he discussed how he wished his grandfather were there to see him take the stage at such a world-renowned venue.  James stopped in the middle of his sentence, and in a moment of speechlessness, threw a huge, childlike smile to the crowd

Why I Think Curtiss King Should Be On Paid Dues!!

i been knowing Curtiss about 3yrs now, i went to his storm on mars release party and i though he was dorky and corny but dope, so i chopped it up with him after  that i start booking him for instore and little shows. He would show up perform stay to the end if he can, next minute he’s on black cloud dropping snick @ nite. I fully didnt know how much he hustle  until i start really chillin with him and his family..this nigga made beats like 10 a day 60 in 2 months shit like that and had time to write and record, he edit videos and doing album art i mean like full fuckin album art for us,him and other artist,he’s doing like 2-3 shows a week not matter where its at, and while his personal life like family he stays on the grind because this is his PASSION. Everything you hear in his music is him no made up nigga every story “Thats How My Day Is Goin” is true story. I can say life have stump Curtiss out at least 10 times some brutal ass whoopins, but my bro keep getting up and fighting back, i know this is alot people story right here because we all go through it and theres alot of artist the deserve to be on this bill too. So why do i think Curtiss King deserve to be on paid dues not because of the campaign thats natural to us we fight and work hard for what we want. I think the people his fans and his family deserve to see him on that stage and spill his HEART AND EVERY FUCKIN TEAR HE SHED over this music we love and would die for. I dont think Murs know what being on paid dues mean to the underdog the true DIYers..cant even describe that feeling. HIS FAM, HIS FANS, HIS MOM HIS SISTER’S FOR PAID DUES
